Source of Entropy – Concept part 2
Source of Entropy aims to make the
barriers between the virtual and the
physical permeable. It is also a reflection
on how we fail to battle environmental
accumulation.
The constant battle against entropy is the
driving force behind much of what we do.
In an effort of something which I call post
XR, it is best to view the virtual world of
Source of Entropy as a sort of platonic
world. It will not be accessible with HMD
at this stage and exists only as a computer
program.
The goal is for this virtual world to do all
the things the metaverses we were
promised do not: it is permanent, it is
singular, things come to exist there, and
they can, sometimes, fall out.
There is a performative nature in this work
by its sampling of the environment, this
can be in familiar places, like my living
room, at targeted places, like at an
exhibition or in a more interventionist
matter, in public places like parking lots or
garbage dumps
